Picture China is a first person account of an eight-week journey through modern China. Armed with little more than a camera and a very basic comprehension of Mandarin, Dan Eckstein traveled to the booming cities on China’s east coast and the rural areas of its interior. Through daily posts of images and accompanying text, he provides a timely glimpse into the phenomenon that is contemporary China.

Dan is a freelance photographer based in New York City. His clients include The New York Times, PBS/Frontline World, New York Magazine, Esquire and many others.
